Farrah Fawcett: death of an angel

Farrah Fawcett became very poplular in mid 70′s as one of Charlie’s Angels. Her appearance in the TV show boosted sales of her poster which earned her more royalties than what she earned for appearing in Charlie’s Angels. She became an icon because of her hairstyle which later on went on to become an international trend, with women sporting a “Farrah Do” or “Farrah Hair”.

Farrah Fawcett was first diagnosed with anal cancer 3 years ago, and had surgery and chemotherapy for months. On her 60th birthday, the Associated Press reported that she was cancer free.

On June 25, 2009, in the intensive care unit of Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, with O’Neal and Stewart by her side. A private funeral was held in Los Angeles last June 30, 2009, attended by his son who was given permission to leave the California detention center.
