4G iPhone keeps Apple Top of Class

Three years ago, Apples was not in the handheld mobile phone business at all. But now Apples iPhone has become the most popular smartphone in the world. This June 24, 2010, Apple has rolled out the 4G iPhone, the fourth generation handheld device. What makes iPhone 4 emerge from other competitors? One, the device lies at the center of a huge ecosystem of 225,000 applications not to mention the popular iPod Touch and iPad Table which collectively are nearing 100 million units sold. Two, the multitouch, gesture-based features, elegant Web browser, sophisticated music and video playback are the very features of iPhone that have been emulated on many competing smartphones. Basically what Apple introduces will affect the whole industry.

The 4G iPhone is said to be a major leap from its already proven good predecessor, iPhone 3G. Its got sharper screen, a second front-facing camera, larger battery, much better rear camera with flash, and faster processor into a body that is 24% thinner, narrower, but pretty much the same length and weight as iPhone 3.

iPhone is known to be the world’s thinniest smartphone and sports the world’s highest-resolution smartphone screen.

The FaceTime App brought simple, high quality video calling to mobile phones, although for now, it is only over WIFI among iPhone 4 users only.

iPhone 4 has an updated operating system called iOS4 which is capable of running apps simulataneously and for emails, its got unified inbox for multiple accounts and it has the ability to present messages as threaded conversatioins.

iPhone 4 costs the same as iPhone 3 at $199 for the 16 GB model and $299 for the 32 GB memory model.The 3G iPhone on the otherhand will be on sale at $99 only (8GB model).
