Microsoft will release 30 million Windows Phone 7

Microsoft is quite optimistic this year predicting 30 million Windows Phone 7 handsets to be sold by the end of 2011. This was revealed during Microsoft’s slideshow presentation given at ReMix held in Paris, France. The giant software mogul, attributes the amazing success of Windows Phone 7 to the growth of the smartphone industry which is expected to rise from 14% to 40% next year.

Microsoft though will still be facing the great challenges from the other two competitors. Android phone market which currently sold 100,000 handsets based upon the open source OS, are now shipping on a daily basis and is expected to continue to grow . The other contender, Apple having shipped 51.2 million iPhones since the start of 2007 is predicted to ship 40 million more iPhones with possible CDMA version, discounted iphone 3G version, and the upcoming 4G version.
