Google Chrome turns 2

Google’s official web browser, Google Chrome,  has turned 2 years old. To commemorate its second birthday, Google has announced last Thursday the release of  an updated version of its Chrome browser. The updated Chrome browser promises faster speed and features simplified interface.

It was like two years ago when I first stumbled upon Google Chrome, and personally I still feel comfortable using the most popular Internet Explorer’s archrival, the Mozilla Firefox. But Google  confirmed that the new version is three times faster in terms of  JavaScript performance than it was when the first Google Chrome was released two years ago.

Brian Rakowski, Google product manager said, Google has also been working on simplifying the “chrome” of Chrome. They combined Chrome’s two menus into one, move button locations, cleaned up the URL box and Omnibox, and adjusted the color scheme.

“As always, we’re hard at work on making Chrome even faster, and working on ways to improve graphics performance in the browser through hardware acceleration. With the Chrome Web Store, we hope to make it much easier to find and use great applications on the Web.” Brian Rakowski
