MANILA, Philippines — (UPDATE) The Department of Health (DoH) confirmed on Sunday the country’s second case of the potentially deadly Influenza A(H1N1) virus.

Swine influenza  is a respiratory disease of pigs, hence the name swine flu. It is caused by type A influenza virus which was first isolated from a pig in 1930.
