SolarRoll charger: the most portable solar charger for laptops

What you need with this new innovation is enough sunlight for your energy source and you can always charge your laptops, cell phones, PDAs, cameras, and many other digital devices.

The SolarRoll is a waterproof 12-inch wide by 58-inch long flexible solar panel that can be used to power anything from satellite phones to video cameras to GPS devices. It is apparently so reliable that famed mountaineer Ed Viesturs took it with him as he was climbing the Annapurna summit in the Himalayas.

The roll-up flexible solar panel is made of amorphous solar cells for effective low-light performance capable of reverse flow protection and TefzelÔø? fluoropolymer construction for extreme durability. It is waterproof, UV transparent and can be rolled and stored in a convenient storage tube. The panel includes vehicle outlet and multi-linking cable.

SolarRoll Charger is available in three different sizes:

  • SolarRoll 14 - 57 inches long with maximum outoput of 14 watts (15.4 Volts / 900 mA) which is appropriate for running satellite phones and charging laptops. Price: $655
  • SolarRoll 9 – 40 inches long panel with maximum output of 9 watts (15.4 Volts / 600 mA) which is ideal for for running cell phones and charging digital and video cameras. Price: $480
  • SolarRoll 4.5 – 22 inches long with maximum output of 4.5 watts (15.4 Volts / 300 mA) which is best for charging small electronic gadgets like cell phones and PDAs.Price: $295
